Scoro is a cloud-based business management software especially adept at managing sales transactions and complicated financial data. It streamlines business processes and combines project management features with CRM tools such as custom invoices, billing, client profiles, and more. Scoro also allows teams to organize work, automate routine tasks, manage quotes and contracts, as well as track time and bill clients for completed work. 

However, Scoro does not offer a free plan and its paid plans can be expensive for small companies. Due to its niche as a business management tool, companies looking for a general project management solution might have to consider other applications.

Scoro’s version of Kanban boards, the Task Board, allows teams to visualize tasks as they progress through stages of completion. Users can customize the number of stages in a workflow and add details such as labels, assignees, and due dates in a task’s description menu. Reordering tasks is as easy and dragging and dropping. Team members can also filter tasks based on duration, priority, progress, assignees, and more.

Task Management

In addition to Kanban boards and Gantt charts, project managers can create tasks and assign them to multiple people. Scoro also has a repeating task feature that allows teams to set tasks to recur on a schedule. 

With Scoro’s Planner feature, project managers also have executive control over the team’s tasks, its progress, and its deadlines. The planner feature keeps track of all the assignments that team members are working on and new tasks can be added or removed accordingly to a team member’s workload. Tasks can be filtered by user, project type, deadlines, and priorities.

In Scoro, workflow automation is possible through a variety of methods. Teams can stay on track with custom notifications built based on rules set up by project managers and admins. Scoro also has an automatic reminder feature that notifies clients when payment is due. These reminders can recur on a schedule and are sent out during specific intervals. Users can also customize a message using dynamic fields, adding a personalized flair. Last but not least, teams have the option of creating email templates and saving them for future use.

File Sharing

Scoro’s Files section keeps all documents and attachments neatly organized. Users can either upload files directly from the computer or via a third-party application such as Google Drives. Teams can also filter files by owner, category, project, size, and date. 

File storage limits are tied to the plan a team is subscribed to. All accounts subscribed to the Essential plan receive 2GB of file storage. Teams on the Work Hub standard and Sales Hub Standard plans receive 3GB, whereas teams on the Work Hub Pro, Sales Hub Pro, and Ultimate plans receive 10GB. When the storage limit is reached, an additional 1GB is automatically added at a price.

Scoro does not offer a dedicated client portal, but teams are able to differentiate clients by profiles. While setting up a new client profile, teams can enter a custom tax rate, discount, invoice, deadline, currency, payment terms, and more. If there are multiple contacts from the same client company, they can also be linked to the same client profile. 

Scoro’s price lists feature also enables teams to sell different products with different prices and currencies. Price lists can also be linked to specific clients.


Scoro allows users to leave comments and feedback via the comment feature. To use this function, team members have to open a task and write a comment. Once it is published, all users subscribed to this task will be notified. There is also the option to deselect users so the comment notification only goes to certain members. Finally, users can tag team members with the @ symbol tags users and ensure that they are kept in the loop.

Resource Allocation & Planning

Scoro particularly excels at resource management and time management, featuring tools such as time-tracking and work scheduling. When starting on a new task, users can start a timer that automatically logs time spent on tasks. Project managers can list expenses and filter them by time period, team members, and more. With the Scoro Planner, project managers can set working hours for each user, as well as assign tasks to team members based on skills and availability.

Scoro features an automatic time-tracker that allows teams to keep track of time spent on tasks. All logged time can be associated with tasks and projects and turned into timesheets. Project managers can also view and edit any team member’s timesheet, as well as assign durations to all tasks. All planned and completed time entries can be turned into billable work hours or non-billable work hours. These time entries are also automatically generated in the team’s work reports.

Scoro compares budgets with actual results in real-time, so project managers can always keep an eye on KPIs, revenue, costs, and other crucial statistics. When adding in a new expense, project managers can also enter relevant data such as invoice number, date of issue, associated project, currency, and more. Project managers can also create custom invoices for clients, whereas team members can fill out expense forms and receive reimbursements. 

Last but not least, project managers have the ability to filter expenses by time period, team members, and statuses such as “Unpaid”, “Paid”, and “Paid Partially”.

Scoro takes data security seriously and strives to prevent the loss of customer data. Scoro uses HTTPS encryption protocol for every transaction and passwords are encrypted with an aes-256-cbc cipher. Servers are hosted around the globe in different data centers provided by Scoro’s trusted partners, Linx Telecommunications BV and Amazon Web Services. The security and availability of each data center are managed by external providers and are verified by Scoro to be competent.
